google the part number (27116M) and the first result will be to courtesy auto parts like this

http://www.courtesyparts.com/27116m-****-water-control-maxima-j30-1991-feds-cals-1992-1994-sohc-p-56993.html?cPath=1610_1611_1648_1672&

they have the part, but this link wont work because the site stars out the word ****

Water **** solenoid... thats the one in the center rear of the engine bay, up on the firewall, yeah? If you have no luck finding an OEM part number I can find it in the parts system at work if I get time. Got a bunch of cars we need to button up and ship by the weekend though so can't promise it!

EDIT: Would need you to PM your VIN to make it faster to track down in case of any revisions specific to your year/build date, even though the part appears to be universal for all third gens assuming its the part I think it is.

I was going to make a joke about the water shlong solenoid earlier in this thread: http://forums.maxima.org/3rd-generat...eat-cured.html

It is in the picture, not sure exactly which part though off the top of my head.

Yea, I noticed the **** but rooster won't go to the part, either. Anyway, thank you thank you. I'm just in the age group that doesn't quite have googling in the front part of my brain, yet. Part ordered - mission accomplished.

I have a 1990 Maxima, since 1997, that now has 130K. I love the car! I'm glad to be a member of the forum with others of like mind.

Cordially,

Zenshin

I had to replace the part as well some time ago, but to get the right part number for the part was quite a mission because the original part number has been superseded to different part numbers, based on certain years. For my 89, if I enter the original part number (92400-85E00, I got the entire assembly not just the solenoid) on Courtesy's website, it will give me the superseded number along with the part number for the wiring harness.

I bought one at the local salvage yard. As long as the tube nipple fittings are still strong and the diaphragm and solenoid are good, you will save ~$40+. The new Nissan part is ~$70 but I got one for $20. It will probably last as long as I have the car, which won't be longer than a year or so.

Back when my oldest was 13, we went to the Honda dealership in Flagstaff, Arizona. We walked up to the counter together, I looked the parts person in the face and said I had a "leaky petcock", and my son just about died.......

Totally hilarious, probably scared him for life
