I believe you may be right. I've had no luck finding one yet anyway. I think unorthodox makes or made one for the se but not the gxe. I saw a senior in his late 70's with a 3rd gen that looked like it had just rolled off the lot it was in such good shape and was a gxe and he had an underdrive pully but it was years ago and i didn't think to ask where he got it. Is your pully for sale or is it in use? and is it for the gxe?

it's in use...but i've been looking for a stock one to replace it (one that's doesn't wobble).
it's for a VG30E motor...so it should fit a GXE.

Very important. The old 2nd and 3rd gen Maxima's are known for charging problems even in stock form. There was a recall back in the day where they actually brought cars in and swapped out the pulley on the alternator for one to speed it up. You do NOT want to underdrive the systems on the VG.

If you're looking to lighten things up, a Fidnaze aluminum flywheel definately helps out. Anticipate losing some torque. But, if you do the cams and headwork like you seem to be considering, you'll more than make up for it in power gains.

I'm certain about the recall (or TSB), I had the paperwork at one point. I know some people did not have issues underdriving. My guess is Nissan resolved the issue with enlarging the pulley on the alternator. I'm trying to recall if there was some findings that certain underdrive pulleys were a bit smaller and that was causing charging issues. Clearly, you've had no issues.

OP, just something to check after installing an underdrive pulley...ensure you've still got 14.4v.

You mean decreasing the diameter of the altenator pulley....I'm running a UR and It's had no issues with the charging system! But I did have both underdrive and OEM sized ASP racing pulley made and I have 1 left!
