Does anyone else have this problem?

I got a 92 SE and for some strange reason, when i ride with my front windows up and my back windows down, I get a sound like a helicopter is over my head noise. Its pretty hard on tha eardrums and I was wondering if anyone knows what causes this and if it could be fixed?

If both rears are down, I bet the noise would go away if you rolled the front two windows down at least an inch or more. Try that. The "helicopter" sounds you describe may be the inconsistency of turbulant air moving along the sides of the car then comming into the car with the open back windows?

yup.. just air turbulence because of the way the car is designed. only solution is to roll the front windows down also, or the backs up..
I dunno if opening the sunroof would help.. never thought about trying..

But it's not just your car.. both of my Maximas (93GXE and SE) have done it. design flaw.

Well damn, if ALL cars have that problem, why don't we just eliminate it by putting the earth in a big vacuum.. it'd lower wind resistance and increase gas mileage, and you wouldn't have to worry about that damn noise!

wow..moderators really are god! i mean..if you have the power to get the earth into a vacuum...eh..nevermind.

but it does help me if i open the sunroof..it lets the air flow a little better in the car.
