everyone chime in w/muffler opinions!

yet again!

i was thinking of getting an Apex'i N1 muffler, or a Dunk. anyone have opinions on how those would sound?

dunk on my friends eclipse sounds bad-freakin-***.

how abt 5zigen? aerospeed?

i don't wanna sound like an indy car, or worse: a civic!

For the love of GOD, stay away from Apexi or most of those other ricer muffler brands! Apexi mufflers, from my experience, give the Max a bees in a can sound. My friend had the dunk muffler I think, until I beat him up and made him get rid of it! Seriously though, I'd consider Dynomax, Borla or Flowmaster if you want something that will sound powerful and not like a stupid Civic.

GReddy Catback

Yeah, I know it's expensive. But it looks great, performs great, and is not all loud and ricey. Save up. Worth every penny

what about arospeed? I could get one of those for about 50 on ebay. It's the one with the silencer.

I've never heard an Apex'i muffler on a Max before, but my friend put one on his Integra GSR and he's already gotten a few tickets for his car being too loud.

I've got a 5zigen Fireball on my 92 gxe. Sounds nice and deep, but not to loud. Looks great also. I paid 189 + shipping for mine.

Well if you do intake, full exhaust (y, cat, muffler) then it will make any 3rd gen sound awesome.

Hey JiggamyZigga, what's the dizzle on the skizzle my nizzle? j/k Seriously though, if you want to be heard, I remember a post before (a while ago) and someone mentioned some muffler. I am not sure what it was but I thought it was a Dynomax muffler. They said it kept a low exhaust note while at low rpm but when you gave it very much gas or went WOT, it would get loud. Though, they ment loud in a powerful, good way and not as bees in a can. Just stay away from Apexi guys! I don't have a lot of personal experience with all their mufflers or anything but, I've known some guys that have had their mufflers before. One had a '95 240 and the other had a 93 Maxima and neither of them liked the sound it gave their cars.

BTW, do any of you have experience with the GReddy Catback? I am definitely not going to get it but I just thought I should mention it. Personally, I think for $400-$600 it seems like a waste of money when I can just about get my whole exhaust from WSP instead of just a catback. Though, just thought I should mention it. I'm definitely going dual exhaust with dual tip mufflers. I don't like the looks of one big muffler as compared to 2 mufflers. Something just looks mean about dual exhaust.

i agree.. unfortunately i'm budget skimping!

and then two mufflers on a max screams *steal me!* and that's scary.

i'd just like to overcome the backpressure issue... i don't even know if a y-pipe is in my future.
