Trying out 4th gen temperature sensor

I got a code for the coolant temperature sensor and sure enough, there was a lot of corrosion on the plug and pins of the sensor. So instead of cleaning it, I just replaced it with one that's used on the 4th gen. I got the idea from hanging out with other Maxima members checking out their cars and they looked quite similar. So I compared and they have the same voltage output, thread and pitch sizes. So yesterday I installed it. No problems so far, but we'll see. I know about the harness, I plan to replace it soon, used or new.

Just one question; why?

The same reason to go with the 93-94 injectors on the VG: much better connection (removes the metal clip and no wiggle of the connector) and less chance of corrosion if not at all.

K, let us know how it works out, my radiator cracked so I'm waiting on my new radiator & hoses, I was contemplating on changing my TS too but I cleaned it off and discovered the connector clip is broken and is just sitting in place, another thing I need from junk yard. Pull-a-part wanted $50 for a used radiator, and a new one was $58 shipped on Amazon, SMH, really?

It has been over a week and my car has been behaving better since changing the sensor. Guess it was time for a replacement or the corrosion was that bad. I would recommend this if you guys experience the same problem.

I also ordered a new EGI harness and has been shipped so I can't wait for that. Also, I'm very close to 350k miles. Too bad it's not the original engine.
