I bet it won't work. Pretty sure those types of things are OBDII only
Why even look into this though? Unless you get some heavily discounted used one you're looking at $400-500 anyway, which is around the cost of Nistune
You can save a lot of money on Nistune if you don't have to buy the license. If you can find an actual Nistune tuner (and I believe there are several in Florida), you don't actually need to buy your own license, he will use his license/software to tune your car. That way your only cost is the ECU/board itself
Double edit, just checked the prices from Autovaughn Performance (where I got my Nistune stuff) and it's $240 for the type 3 board (VE board though their website mistakenly lists VG30DE). Add $50 for install and you're looking at around only $300 total if you find a Nistune tuner like I stated above.
