Low idle/Massive fuel consumption

I have a 94 GXE SOHC...engine is completely stock other than a K&N filter... On cold startups the car barely wants to run cause the idle is so low...then when it's warmed up in parked, it seems a little high...like the idle it SHOULD be on cold start ups... I'm not really sure what these cars should be getting mileage wise, but I remember taking a trip awhile back and looking at my trip odometer and it reading around 368 miles? And I was damn near empty... Now I'm getting like 100 miles less than that if I'm lucky... Lol. I'm no mechanic... Lol and realize there could be many issues here but how likely that it's an Idle Air Control problem? Should I check that before looking into Mass air flows? Another thing too... I bought an IACV from RockAuto but when it arrived it looked nothing like the valve I have on my car...yet that is the only model they and sellers on Ebay sell NEW... I ended up returning it... The only models I have found that look similar are used and for sale on Ebay... Sorry for the novel... I'm stumped...just trying to figure this out...any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

you might try replacing the o2 sensor. as a bad o2 with bad readings would cause the ecu to run rich or lean . in your case rich since you fuel consumption is hi. other thing you can cgech is the coolent temp sensor, make sure the contacts are clean and no corrosion . pad cts will make the car run rich since it might think the car is still cold.
