Frozen calipers

My 90 Max VG has been parked for 3 yrs. and recently decided to bring it back to life. Started and runs fine. All 4 calipers are dragging and won't release. Repair or replace calipers? Suggestions ?

Depending on your budget. But i would go with a ebay drilled slotted rotors n brake pads for under $125. And try a junkyard to find used calipers if not ebay has them for like $50 each rebuilt

Depends on the price. I mostly replace them, but I've rebuilt a few. If the rotors are worn I'd just go with a regular blank rotor IMHO.

I may take one apart and clean/ lube it and see what happens. If it takes too much time I may just buy some rebuilt ones. New rotors and flush the brake lines and new tires are next. Since my daily ride is a M45, I haven't driven the Max in awhile. Sitting for that long hasn't been good for it.

At least pull them apart and see if the pitting and corrosion is too severe too rebuild....personally sometimes rebuilding them is only gonna be a temporary band aid and sometimes it's just more economical too get rebuilt calipers and use your worn out units as cores...

Is it the pistons that are frozen or the guide pins that the brake pad holder rides on?

Rock Auto has one of the front calipers for $19 right now, no core charge

Rebuilt front calipers can be had for ~$40 ($25 after core) WITH caliper bracket

Being that cheap I have never even bothered to try to rebuild a caliper on these cars.

The rears are more expensive but if you hunt around online you can find the rears for about $50 after core
