Hey guys, so I looked around for a bit on the internet and this site for an answer. I have a 1991 Maxima 3.0. Here is the problem, The car will crank like no other but refuses to start. Most mornings it starts fast and goes all day strong. Then on rare occasions like today when I have to be at work it does this. It has happened 3 or so times in the 1 month that I have had it. It has a new starter, and all vacuum lines, plugs and wires have been replaced. When this problem happened the second time I called a mechanic, he showed up a 4 hours later and BOOM the car started awesome. He looked under the hood and noticed a pin hole in the fuel line coming from the rail. So, being gullable I said to go ahead and do what he thinks is necessary. Still does it apparently. I have heard a lot of different things could be causing this but all on different makes and models. I thought it could be cause of the cold weather but all mornings are cold right now in TN. And it has been starting fine. Any ideas??? The only thing that the times it has done this has had in common are days I really have to be somewhere important. haha

 

Sounds like maybe a possible fuel pump problem. If you turn the key to acc before you start the car you should be able to hear the pump prime for a few seconds.

 

Check for Air, Fuel and Spark! A fuel leak (pin hole leak) won't stop it from starting...To me it sounds like either you have a intermittent fuel pump or ignition amplifier module!
