I was wondering if anyone had tips, instructions, or pics of how to paint the center section of the rear tails. I was thinking about doing it, but don't really know how it would look, or how to go about doing it. Any help would be apreciated.

1. Remove from car
2. clean.
3. scuff with 600+ grit sand paper, preferably 1000+ to keep out scratch marks.
4. paint.
5. reinstall.

easy stuff.

Craig the look good the gray i like the best b/c thats my color btw is there a way to get a yellow led strip or something like that in the clear piece of the middle section cause ive done the tailight switcharoo and think it would look cool if i get get that to light up when i brake

I posted a thread on how to create you own clears.I would not suggest painting your red lenses simply because it will greatly decrease the light that passes through.

the guys here are talking about painting the part that covers the back of the trunk which doens't have any lights behind it, not the rear taillights

Btw is there a way to get a yellow led strip/red strip in the clear section under the red piece that would be painted the color of your car ive done the tailight switcharoo and think it would look cool if i get get that to light up when i brake in yellow since i have the blinkers working as brakes also

I don't know where you would get one, but if you did, you could wire it up fairly easily
to do it, I'd have to see the actual LED thing and what it looked like.
but you could probably do it by taking it off the center piece on the trunk and mount the leds on the inside, then you could tap the wire going to the spoiler brake light for power; I think it would look best in the bottom part if you left that white part unpainted and put the lights in there

thats exactly where i want to put it painting the red part with the maxima stcickre leaving the clear pat alone and installing the led there..tapping the spoiler light would be a great place to get power from(great suggestion)Would anyone know where a led could be found.just occured to me dont some spoiler bring led or sell replacements for them....if their white bulbs i might be a ble to go to a junkyard and clip a couple of tailight yellow pieces out and mount them in there with the leds(whada ya think)Crazy or feesible
