Second possibly third owner. Vehicle excellent condition. One problem not sure if major or minor. Not sure if electronic or mechanical problem. Transmission issue occurred randomly though did nothing about it. The reason being money plus the random issue was far and few in between when it occurred. Also the vehicle kept moving along. Then one day when accelerating the transmission disengaged without any signs of problems. The transmission will not engage in any gear. Hmmm?
Now money present, considering of dealership diagnostic of issue. Does anyone have any comments on this issue? Not many dealerships in WA State, Snohomish county.

Previous experiences with defective transmissions have always had significant signs of problems like slipping of gears.
To have transmission stop working completely in any gear, drive, reverse and other is unusual in my opinion. I am not a professional mechanic though have serviced my vehicles in the past countless of times. Though now will take in to dealership for professional advise and service.

If you are relying on your experience then what's the point of your original post?
If you do a search you will find countless postins on failed trannies, now that's the experiences of many who have been custodians of theses wonderful cars over the years.
Let us know what the dealer says.

Decided to sell instead of fix 89 Nissan Max

I have carfax. The car is very clean and runs strong. Problem tranny. What is the suggested price should I sell it to move it quickly?
