Opps, wrong torque spec

So after many years of putting it off, I finally got around to putting it all back together. A good side note for anyone trying this with the Chiltons, make sure you're reading the specs for the right motor. Off to the machine shop to make sure I didn't warp it.

you won't warp the head if you over torque it . you will just break bolts lol. the worst case is once you install the engine and run it over time you will end up having to replace the head gasket since you basically got rid of its expansion/flex space by over tightening it.

Wow you must have put some serious torque into that head bolt to snap it. What's the VG intended spec and what did you actually torque it to?

46 ft lbs for the VG, 90 ft lbs for the VE. VG torque sequence diagram is on the same page as the VE torque steps.

I got one bolt to the 90 ft lbs and was working on the second when it snapped. Luckily where I work we have a machinist and everything checked out fine.
