Are there any good after market coil packs?
I have a code P1320 that just popped up on my 2000 SE and was planning on replacing my coil packs any way as well as the coil condenser and was curious if there are any good after market coil packs? I have already replaced the spark plugs and I'm going to ohm out wire harness and check the connectors as soon as I get a chance due to rain.
Any suggestions?

You can get the OEM Hitachi coils at a very decent price here: http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo....359222&jsn=359

2; my old vq30 4th gen threw a check engine light when I used an Autozone coil pack. The car ran fine, but the impedance caused a cel.
The vq35 seems to be less picky when it comes to coils, but OEM is still king.

well, at least for most if not all sensors on this car aftermarket are garbage and dont last the test of time like oem sensors, i thought it would ring true with coil packs being such a vital electronic part of the engine but... i guess not..
they can be pricey so for what they are worth i can see why its worth trying them if it isn't written in stone they suck, it just that it applies to so many other things on this car its almost a default.
in closing, you get what you pay for just saying.

im not sure how much sarcasm is there, but parts on ebay are scarey, and sensors and important parts at that are even scarier.
the last few parts i got on ebay was a FSTB in 2007, an evap sensor in 2009, and eyelids from a member here that used ebay as a platform for his sales.
i usually do amazon now, or real parts stores that are local (aftermarket or not)
bah blah blah, but i take ur opinion very highly , so if u are rockin aftermarket coils then +1

Good choice! Hitachi is who manufactured the original maxima ECU!
So id say anything Hitachi is the proper rated electric output/input!
Id say the issue with other manufacturers is they might rate the sensor at a higher amp range? They may build the sensor for A 15 amp curcuit instead of the 10amp circuit its actually rated at. So that may be why some dont work right?
I see Unisia on some of the parts like the MAF.

You can swap the #2 coil your self. You just remove the engine cover and remove the coil with one 10mm bolt. It's super easy. The coils on the 02 have proven to be pretty stout. I wouldn't replace them all (especially if you're paying to have it worked on) just for one misfire. You're looking at ~ $40 for one coil VS hundreds for a set of coils plus install.
Replace the suspected coil and see if the misfire goes away. Look at the plug as well. It may be fouled with unburned fuel.

shops saying not Cylinder misfire code ! autozone 2 days ago said that, could have been maybe an old cold?
is it possible to have a misfire and have it go away phyiscally but store the memory with the CEL and codes?

Misfires can come and go. It's possible that it only misfired at full throttle after being hot for a while. If they pull the front 3 plugs and compare them they may be able to tell if it's been misfiring a lot.
A misfire can be caused by the plug, injector or coil. There are other causes but most will come with other codes.
Is this something that just happened or has it been going on for a while?
Also, how many miles on the plugs?
Any driveability issues?

Oh yeah. A certain # of misfires in a period of time will throw a code. The code will stay for several drive cycles before clearing if it doesn't happen again.

I would say I noticed a very weird dump in acceleration (pedal on floor and super delayed and lagged reaction on highway one day, and it was noticable because i never had that with my maxima before , it always gets up and goes) but it was while on the highway between lanes and ramps and a heistation between cars and what not, and honestly no other noticable issues., and that was about a month ago.
I have had the CEL light on since january though cuz of EVAP gross leak, so its hard to pin point how long that misfire was...in there.
It is just coming up now because of an autozone scan [p0302] (being proactive prior to inspection today), but then while at shop for inspection 48 hrs later they said they didnt pull the cylinder #2 misfire code , just evap and thermostat, so i am going to leave it alone, i have had 6th gen vcs for 90k miles, and just did plugs about 20k miles ago.
considering my maintenance on this car I dont think i will worry about it unless it comes up again. the shop cleared the codes and is havin me come back thursday if the codes are gone to do emissions....fingers crossed.
Thanks again! will post updates (have an evap code [p0328] and a thermostat malfunciton code [pP0128] both kind of repeat offenders after caulking evap canister 5 years ago and staying cleared , and this thermostat code i did the ECTS and removed that code for 11 months untill may 2017)
