Heater core replacement

I have searched and searched looking for instructions to change the heater core. I found mention of a short cut so the whole dash doesn't need to come out but not full instructions. The Chiltons manual is a joke. Anybody know where I can get instructions? 1990 Maxima. It looks as if 89-94 is the same. Help before I freeze.

i've only seen it where the entire dash comes out. total PITA but i think that's how you'll need to attack it.

dash has to come out, if you look for shortcuts you'll end up messing around more than just plain removing the dash

before we get there how sure are you its the heater core? is one engine bay heater core line hot and one cold? did you try blasting out the heater core with a pressure washer? thermostat etc are more likely culprits

I believe you can find the FSM if you search here in the forum which would be a better reference than the Chilton manual. Perhaps someone could chime in with a link to the FSM.
