Broken rail under driver's seat

In our '90 SE with 239K miles, the left-hand rail has broken under the driver's seat.

What other model years have driver's seat rails that are interchangeable with a '90? '89 - '94? More model years than that?

Were there different kinds of seats with different rails, such as manual vs. power?

When I get the part, should I unbolt the rails to make the repair, or is there a way to take the seat off of the rails?

Anything else I should be aware of before buying the part from a wrecking yard and swapping it in?

Thanks for any suggestions.

yes there are different power and manual seats, the seat can be removed from the rails. many years back on my 3rd gen i had the OEM rails refitted and welded to fit a pair of Sparco seats

as far as i know theres no crossovers unless you maybe try Stanza seat rails, but honestly it shouldnt be hard to find a junkyard 3rd gen and just grab the rails from the seat and swap it in

Thanks, but as far as I can tell from this round of calls to junkyards, they seem to be crushing and disposing of their 3rd-gen Maximas in droves. Most of the listings told me they'd crushed and disposed of the car and just hadn't bothered to remove the listings.

I did find one only 40 miles away, a '92 at a pick & pull. But it turned out to be power seats. Dang.

On Friday I found a wrecking yard in North Carolina, about 2250 miles away from me, that had one. He needed to figure shipping cost but it was the end of the day for him, so I'll try him again Monday if he doesn't call first.

If that doesn't work out, the neighborhood Chevron said they could weld it, though they recommended replacement if I could find one.

In the meantime, I've tied it down with polyester twine and it's still holding. It has less than an inch of play, so not too bad until I get it fixed.
