vtc's or kit 13072-97E00

Have a safe dependable rust free 92 SE. I have replaced or upgraded almost everything on this car. I have 8 years experience sourcing parts for it. BUT, I am a deadend. Already went to wiring diagram and tapped into solenoid ground in car to install switch. If you have a recent source for the kit or a stash and are looking to improve your karma let me know.Ear plugs are not an option. Thanks to all Doug

Looking. If I had one of the new 2.761" springs I think I could probably get it duplicated at an aerospace spring company in my area. Factory specs would be nice.

I drive a 28 year old car. If money wasn't a concern I would get rid of the VE30DE and go to a VQ. Not because I don't think the VE is a great engine, but it is getting impossible to continue to maintain it. It would be a crime to tear apart a new VTC to duplicate a spring. Nissan parts deal claimed they had 13025-97E02's for $300 each. I tried to order them but after calling them they admitted that they don't actually have any. That was a stretch. So. How much ? A reasonable amount.

I don't intend to be obtuse, but I ask because I have a VTC rebuild kit with the correct length springs. I went through a lot of trouble to source it and had to order in the entirety of the remaining N American stock some years ago to find this one. It's sitting in a closet right now with other VE parts I've collected over the years to try to protect against obsolescence.

On the other hand, I also have two VE's with silent and properly operating VTC assemblies and so odds are I very likely won't "need" the rebuild kit and thus am open to selling it. However, given its rarity and the fact that I can probably never source another kit again should I need to in the future, I would be hesitant to sell it for a trivial amount obviously.

Feel free to PM me with an offer

it's $300 at the dealer...so i'd say 350 +ship would be fair for an unicorn part.

OR....

James, sell it to him on the premise that he can return the item after he sourced out the proper spring. if the item doesn't come back exactly the way you sent it to him then you keep the $.

i get these cars are getting rare and up on years. if we as a community want to keep these VEs on the road we have to join in and help that cause otherwise they are all going to the crusher.
