Speedo problem

So the speedo works sometimes, other times it's just dead.
Also notices that the drivers side head light is coming on after the passengers side.
Related problem?????
Any suggestions????

The speedometer problem is probably bad solder joints on the speedometer circuit board. You can get a new cluster, or try to repair the solder joints on the board. Reflowing the solder requires soldering thru a magnifying glass because of the surface mount components on it.

I was thinking it was the board.
Trans shifts fine, and it uses the signal from the sender.
I have another gauge someplace.

I swapped the speedo head, and It's working fine.
Later I will see how hard it is to resolder the old speedo head.

I used one of these to redo the solder joints:

i had this issue on my 89, i tried the solder points on the cluster, it did nothing. what did work, was taking a 17mm wrench and lightly hitting the vehicle speed sensor, and after that it worked for months on end, flawlessly. that one is free, so i'd say try that first before having it soldered.
