humm.... are you sure that the fuse held.. afer you replaced it..?
if there was a short in a dash wire or a tail wire that fuse would blow....

-to get some on to fix it its going to cost a ot of money becuae there going to spend like 2 hours trying to find the fuse.... labor charges suck...
-i have a short in my shifter somewere .. it blows out the dash/taillight fuse almost once a month... i just hold a lot of 10 Amp fuses ..lol

Right now my tail lights work but my panels still dont light up. i know i did sumthing when i was playing with the wires could it be that i unpluged some kind of main power source. i was working by the steering wheel so it must be sumthing around there...this sux!

hey man..same thing is going on with me.

I was installing a new cd player..i ended up crossing my illumination wire with some other wire..that knocked out the tail lamp fuse..i replaced the fuse and the the parking lights and stuff work fine..but my instrument lights still won't light up. If it's a relay prob then i have extra ones..but i'd like to pin point the problem.

if you find the solution please let me know..ill be very happy to solve this mystery.

thanks

(sorry, i don't have any real help for your problem, but hey, at least i bumped the thread up so you wouldn't have to do so by whining more.)

Get the blue Chilton book (Maxima 85-92), then study page 6-135 or 6-136 ("Interior illumination lights wiring schematic...").

P.S. There is no relay. It's just battery - fuse - switch - lights - ground. Actually, that's not quite right - there is the dimmer circuitry.
