Help-chage alternator

Dear All:

I jumped my car last sunday and changed battery in SAMs (Club). But I could not start my car today again. So I drove to SAMs. They checked my car and told me that battery is OK but alternator is bad.

Could you tell me how to change alternator step by step? Is it very hard to do that by myself? Thanks in advance for your help and time.

A bad alternator will not keep your car from starting. If you can't get the motor to turn over with the new battery, it is probably your starter that went out, not the alternator.
FWIW, an alternator change is pretty straight forward if you are even semi-mechanically inclined. Loosen belt, unbolt, bolt in new, tighten belt, off you go...
If you are unsure, take it to a shop; they shouldn't charge you more than 1.5-2hrs of labor, plus the part. Good luck

Lowflyer is right. Gotta be the starter not the alternator. But for future reference, here are the step-by-step instructions by Bryan how to replace the alternator.
