brake light comes on on turns

brake light comes on on turns
OKOK.... I was doing tight turns 90 degrees at about 25+ mph... and i see the e-brake come on.... Whats the deal with that...?
Also if I press the brake hard , to the point where they almost lock, the low oil light comes on.. (or is thatoil light come on when i turn and e-brake when i stop?) What gives...? Is it a warning? Is it just the sensor miss reading the fluid level as i turn ? Did check the fluids and they are good.... Just wondering if anyone experienced this problem..?

the brake light on the dash comes on for 2 reasons: 1. the ebrake is on, 2. your brake fluid is low
if the fluid is getting low and you go fast around a turn, it can cause the sensors to think that the fluid is lower than it is
you said you checked your fluids though, maybe the brake fluid was just a little above the min level try filling it up closer to the max level and see if that happens

what about when i press the brake hard... i see a light come on
I think it was the e-brake light....
Also... does the gxe 91 max have abs? if so where is the light on the dash board... just wondering?

I dunno about the ABS on a 91.. it may have been an option. Look in the right front corner of the engine bay and see if there's a mess of small tubing (and if your antifreeze reservoir ir right next to your battery). if so, then you have ABS.
as for the brake light coming on, mine would do that when the fluid was more than just a bit under MAX. I had to keep it at max level to keep the light off.
the light under hard braking is weird.. I would say it's your brake light again, but only you can find out for sure.

I think it just might be your brake light again. The "oil" light is usually to report low oil pressure, not oil level, so if it comes on during hard braking then your oil is so low that the pump sucks in some air making the light go on.

I'm having the same issue, but the e-brake light only comes on when I make quick right turns and stay on for a minute or two, if I make a quick move to the left, it turns the light off. I think when I did a search on this a lot of suggestions were to fill the brake fluid up to max (mine is currently about 50% in between min and max) and if that doesn't fix it to check a switch under the center console. Getting ot that switch sounded like a pain so I haven't done that yet. In any case, it's just a screwy sensor issue - nothing is physically going wrong with the e-brake and it's not really activating unless you feel a really bad jerk when the light comes on.

Re: brake light comes on on turns
well try pushing the ebrake down just to make sure that it's not on - my car reads fluids funny too. when i go all of them are normal but when i'm at a redlight and i'm low on gas...many different lights come on. but as soon as i go again, they all turn off

I know it helps me even everytime it rains over those Teflon-coated railway crossings they got here (I have to brake over them).

Anyway, Justin (Badaxxima) tells me that ABS was one of the rarest features on the 3rd Gen. I have driven two others that had it, and three that didn't. I take it you have ABS??! Maybe you could tell me what's up with the light. It was coming on even before I disconnected it...

My first racer was a 510, and my first car was an OLD cadillac, so I wasn't used to ABS. I liked it in my van, cause it was freakin huge and I was often trailing stuff, but in my car I like no ABS. I guess I'm just wierd??...

I certainly wouldn't call it one of the rarest options. I'd say sonar suspension, digital dash, and HUD are the rarest. ABS seems fairly common on the Maxes I've seen up here in Canada, but then again our cars seem more luxury oriented too (Brougham model, auto-climate in my SE , etc).
I wish I could help you more with your particular ABS prob, but I don't know a lot about it. BUT, there's the control unit located under the right side of the parcel shelf with a LED that blinks trouble codes at you. Maybe it's just a wonky speed sensor or something. Go here: http://www.bignissans.org.uk/ and find the article named "Don't Go Braking My Heart" in the J30 section. There's a great article on how to find out what the car's trying to tell you there. Of course I guess you'll have to hook it back up again and cause the problem first though... Oh well, hope that helps

i've seen the anti-skid fuse label, but I can't remember if I actually have a fuse in there. I figured it was jsut some option my car didn't have, but come to think of it, that's just becoming a common feature on cars today, was it even an option back in 93?

i have a 91 se
my brake light did that too for a few months, so i just filled it up and thought nothing of it
but the reason that it was happening so much is because my lines were really worn
so i got new brake lines and everythings working much better
pricey though, well for me at least
