anyone have any gutterguard grill pics? I have a 92 SE adn i was wondering if it would look right. I don't have the chrome edges around the grill. should i buy a GXE grill with the chrome around it? i really like the look but should i put an emblem on the mesh. Help me out here. I know this has been a populare and probably overdone topic, but i really like the look.

there's some pics on my website of mine..

on your car, you can buy some body-colored paint and paint the mesh the same color as the car (or just black if you're got a bright colored car)..
it'll make the mexh blend in with the car better.. OR you could leave it plain like mine..
you can also paint the grille any color you want.. many people paint the entire thing body colored, but I chose to leave mine chrome.
oh well. here's pics.

<img src=http://24.1.29.190/blehm/pics/car/grille2.jpg>

the bottom pic doesn't look that great because I bent up the mesh cleaning it.. just be sure to bend it back straight if it gets bent, and you'll be fine.

not to be bashfull or anything but i dont like the way the clears look, they dont look like they're set in properly and look out of place. I do like the grill a lot though, nice car!

Part of the problem on mine is that that's not an OEM bumper.. I wrecked my car a couple years ago and the ******* at the body shop put on cheap aftermarket parts, including the bumper..
Look at the outer edges, and you'll notice the bumper goes in under the lights.. the lights don't stick out, it's the bumper that sits in..
if this were an OEM bumper, the lights would fit MUCH better.

As for step-by-step instructions, it's a pretty simple operation..
1. remove the grill,
2. cut the innards out (around the pins that hold it in place, remove the center one because the ones in the corners are enough to hold it)
3. insert gutter guard by cutting it about 3/4" larger all the way around, then bending the 3/4" extra back in, so it sits flush with the inside of the grille..
4. fasten mesh in place with glue, rivets, zip ties, whatever you want.
5. stick back on car.

it is basically because all clear and the like aftermarket lenses are garbage. i have the APC ones wich run $75. they are still ****. they just arent made of the same quality of the oem. im freinds with a guy that owns a performance shop and sells various kinds and has seen just about every kind. he agrees that they are all ****. they look so much better though, i had to keep mine on.

i agree...mine don't line up the greatest, but look much better...look at matt's (looking at the car) clears on the right side (left side of his car). (earlier post) They don't line up good at all...one of mine kinda looks like that too. But you can't complain too much. Hey, at least we HAVE clear corners. No B!tchin allowed! The only problem other than that is that moisture gets intode them, so i lined the sides of it with silicone rubber and now it's fine.

mine don't line up to well either. matt, that grill is tight! the mesh looks good just leaving it chrome to match the grill and the nissan emblem. it looks nice and sleek, but also agressive at the same time.
