92 SE Auto wont start when warm
Hi, Guys
I have a 92 Maxima SE (auto) 162km/100miles
The Car will not start from a warm start.
Example drive it for 30mins or so , then park the car for a bit.
I have waited hours until the car will start, depending on the weather.
I have owned the car for 6mths now.
I have replace the TBS, Serviced the throttle-body, replaced the starter, new air, fuel and platinum plugs.
The Car also lacks power at times, and there is no pattern to this.
I have a mild case of the VTC problem,(as per my locate Nissan dealer)
would that cause my problem?
Has anyone else experience this problem.
The Car starts and runs fine, whenever I bring it to the dealers.
Any help would be great
Thanks
Dave

There is a small phillips screw in the Idle air control valve, turning counterclockwise will raise the idle. I'll try and describe its location. The screw is flush with the IACV. It points toward the front of the car. It should be directly beneath the throttle body. With a long phillips head screw driver you should be able to reach it. Good luck

Hate to say it I had a similar problem the cpu board had a bad solder joint. When it got warm If I shut it off it would crank like crazy but never start. after it cooled down or the wheather changed and it was cold no problem.

His problem is not a common one (having a cracked solder point in the ecu)
The only other thing I can suggest (other than raising the base idle) would be having the IACV (idle air control valve) cleaned out .
How many miles are on your max?

unfortunateley cleaning out the IACV would not be apart of a throttle body cleaning. Throttle body cleaning consists of just cleaning the butterfly valve of carbon deposits .
Some people on the org like to dissasemble their IACV. Personally I have a simpler method that involves spraying throttle body cleaner through the air intake that leads to the IACV.

Also your engine has alot of miles on it. Have you replaced any of the Ignition coils yet? (there are 6). If you have not I would reccomend replacing at least the three in the rear (or all of them if you have the $$$). they go for around $55 a piece from Courtesy Nissan in Texas (mention you are from the internet and you will get the discound).
