Leaking Brake Fluid ?

All,

Two week earlier my car's brake warning light came on. I found the brake fluid in the reservior was low so I filled it up to the max level. Today the light came on again, and the fluid level was low again. I pumped the brake pedal with the engine off, it felt air tight. Can someone please tell me where the fluid is leaking out?

Thanks,
Dennis

Your kidding right? How are we supposed to know?

Advice: Please call your trusted local mechanic and have them take a good look at your brake system. Don't mess with your brakes. Do it NOW.

I checked my car again this evening, the ABS actuator is leaking! It was dark outside, I didn't get a chance to figure out where exactly it's coming from. Pretty sure it's not from any of the hose connectors since all of them are dry. Does anyone have experience repairing the ABS actuator? Can I remove it from the car? Any help will be appreciated.

Depends on your level of mechanic skill. I might try it but I've not done it. I still suggest you have a mechanic take a look.

Not something I would recommend to an amateur. if you know what you're doing with brakes and have no problem replacing brake calipers, lines and other parts, then go right ahead... otherwise, please take it to a shop and let them worry about your safety and everyone in front of you.

my brakes failed my on my way to the shop to get my caliper replaced. A car stopped in front of me..i hit my brake..nothing happened, i had to hit the gas and run into the left lane, with a big *** SUV comming from the back, i was lucky to pick up speed in time or he would have rammed me good, then i used the e-brake to stop.

Get your brakes fixed immediately, its not something to mess with, don't bother wasting time wondering if you can fix it or not, pay and have it fixed before you think about doing regular driving again. Your brakes equals life, to you and everyone around you.

you probably know all this already anyway,

Good Luck!

Re: Leaking Brake Fluid ?

The only problem replacing this thing is the price. Around 1000-1400 new, usually around 3-400 at a yard. I replaced mine once already, and its leaking again(1 year later) so I'm looking again. If anyone knows of a cheap one avail. Im interested.
