93 Maxima maks a clunking noise from the rear when going over bumps. Rear struts just replaced but still makes the noise. Worse when the weather is cold. All bushings appear to be in good order and I cant see that the exhaust is hitting anything. This car is stock, no modifications have been made. Noise sounds like something banging around in the trunk but everything there including the spare is tight. Can anyone help figure this out?

Sounds like your stabilizin bar is broken in the back, also check ur springs/shock absorbants. If you said when u hit bumps its like medal rattlin in ur trunk right? well if thats clear what u said, im 98.9% sure this is ur problem.

Check the following...

Trunk torsion bar...mine always rattles

Top bolt of both rear shocks

Wing if you have one

Jack in brace tightly

Antennae assembly tight against side of trunk...can be hard to reach.

Thanks for the help. I will check out all of the suggestions and advise what I find. I had the rear struts replaced just last week and had the car realigned. So I don't think thats the problem but will check out anyway.
