Sylvania Silverstars and Cling-On Tint

I have two questions. Has anyone used the new Sylvania Silverstar headlights (55 watt) and what is your impression compared to 80 watt Xenon bulbs in the market. I need some new headlights and saw these at Autozone. I had APC 80 Watt Platinum Whites and loved them. All white and no blue.

Also has anyone used the cling-on tint fo their windows that you can just peel off. I saw these and was wondering what others thought or expereince if you have used them.

Thanks

im not sure what you mean by cling-on tint, but i have tinted my windows with the film before. it was a b*tch. it didnt turn out good after hours and hours of messin with it. i ended up wasting like $50 keep buying film and trying to get it to turn out good. i was never satisfied and just ripped it all of. if your picky like me your better off just spending the money and having a professional do it the right way.

cling on tint is not worth the money. Cling on tint is a lazy man's way out. A girl should laugh at you if she ever goes in your car and all of a sudden, your tint falls off!

Instead of putting money on that, save up a bit more and spend on having someone install real tint for you, it'll last much longer and look much better. It's easy to tint windows if you take your time. Luckily for me i had 4 extra window glasses so i didn't have to tint them on the car, I tinted em, and replaced the windows on the car with the newly tinted windows, then I paid $30 for someone to properly tint my rear big window. So I go got it done for $60. I've seen a lot of places that will do a complete tint for $80-100. When summer comes, tint helps! Saves you gas on running the ac all the time, car stays cooler longer.

Good luck!

I put Silverstars in my car, they're nice and white, and best of all they won't burn your wiring out, stock wattage. I have 9004s for sale...$33 shipped for the pair if you're interested. Email me.

I already have high wattage wires. I just want to know how much brighter or whiter are the silverstars (55 watt) compare to Xenon (80 watt) bulbs?

Yeah, DIY tint is not good, which is unfortunate. The only tint you can DIY is for your house windows.

I know a guy at work who tinted his older 626. The result was crappy, with air bubbles and wrinkles in various places. Some other co-worker pointed it out and laughed his butt off and kept asking me if that wasn't the funniest thing I'd ever seen. I didn't laugh much because I liked the 626 owner and this guy was a bunghole.

yeah, i would get like the 2 front side windows and the little rear seat windows done perfect no bubbles or nothin. the big rear seat window and the main rear window is just way to hard to get right. just too damn curved.

they will be white, and they don't have blue tint all over them.

not sure how much the 55w compares to 80w though.

Re: not really

I liked the brighteness of the SS's but one burnt out in a month and I replacd it with a $9 wagner blue bulb and they looked the same then a week later the other SS's burnt out so now I have two wagner bulbs in that I like now This is on my G Cherokee. I also use rubber gloves to install bulbs. I like wagner bulbs because they give the same look as expensive bulbs. I bet you can't tell which of my fathers foglights has the piaa yellow bulb or wagner yellow bulb. He did this because he had problems with piaa foglight bulbs and had to buy them 3 times. He has piaa foglight housing so that might help the wagner bulb look like piaa

I live in ny..you can get things done pretty cheap here, but gotta watch out for people who do crappy work.

You would be better off tinting your for door windows yourself and having someone tint your rear window. The door glasses are easily removable, it's very easy to tint glass when it's not on the car.

I just used some soapy water, and a soft plastic spreader and a blow dryer. once you have it on, trim the edges and let it dry. not hard at all.

good luck!
