need stereo headunit help

i have just completed the rewiring of my aftermarket sony headunit. Upon installation into the car, the tail light fuses always blows out causing all the lights on my dash and ****er to go off and my fender corner lights to not work. I have replaced the fuses and now a new problem appears. The corner light works fine now however all my instrutment lights, climate control and my shifter light is still not working and the clock too is very weak. I have taken out the headunit but the same problem is still there. So does anyone have any suggestion to how i can fix this mess and actually get my headunit installed without all these problems

Sounds like a problem with the dimmer. Have you tried futzing with it?

the tail lights and dash lights are all tied to the same circuit. somehow you wired your illumination circuit wrong on the stereo install. fix that and your problem will go away.
