Chilton's
DOes anyone know why Chilton's 3rd Gen Maxima manual only goes from 1989-92? Why doesn't it cover 93 or 94 since these were also 3rd gen maximas?
I guess my questions is, which manual do I buy, the 89-92 or the 93+? I've got a 93SE.

Well if you are buying a Chilton's manual, I'd say just buy the latest one that has info on your particular engine type. One year doesn't make that much difference.
IF you run into a problem that requires THAT specific of information, you should have a factory Nissan Service Manual.

It's because they only publish new (updated) manuals periodically, and they don't always know before-hand when a particular generation of car will come to an end. Actually, I kind of wonder what goes into their decision of when to publish a new book for a given car.

The Haynes and Chiltons type manuals are good for finding stuff on your car and replacing,... but for the technically minded the Factory manuals are sweet! They give lots of info on the inputs and outputs of various sensors and how to change or monitor certain settings. We've got lots of cool features in our car that are normally only aftermarket on other cars. I find it fun to read.
