tranny oil or additives
my tranny was either replaced or rebuilt before I brought it and I will like to maintain it for a while. I just put in new fluid 3,000 miles ago but it was a generic brand. I would like to either buy and additive that really helps shifting, and keeps the seals in good cond even though the tranny is good. What tranny fluid is the best if I decide to change it now, or what additive is the best even though most of them are junk.
thanks

I recommend the Valvoline synthetics.. either the Max Life or the regular stuff.. for both engine oil and tranny fluid...
STAY AWAY fron the Castrol Syntec Blend stuff.. the GTX and the full synthetics are okay, but the Syntec Blend has been shown in tests to start breaking down even before the 3000 mile period is up. the GTX holds up pretty well, and so does the full-synthetic.
I don't recommend ANY additives. they're all snake oil. Good fluid shouldn't need any.
