whats up with my low end power

my car really sucks a$$ until about 3500 rpms. is this normal or does my car need some tuning. i just cleaned the throttle body. it helped a little but i feel that it just isnt kickin like it should. i have a 5 speed. the nissan dealer told me to have my tranny checked out. could this be the problem. thanks.

won't be tranny, I can tell you that much for a fact.
on a 5 spd, the tranny either works or it doesn't. there's no power loss like in an auto.

i kind a figured it wasnt gonna be the tranny. i also just got a new O2 sensor. is it just because our cars dont have good low end power. i always thought that the max had a great power distribution curve. is it just my broke a$$ max.

You should have fairly strong pick up from 2500 and up, with enough oomph under that to drive "normally" around town.

I dunno, get a repair manual, check out the classic basic parts, then move on to all the sensors and special engine management widgets...

How are the injectors?

... those wheels look pretty heavy .

Naw, the basics would be air filter, fuel filter, oil change, tire pressure, throttle body, intake leaks?, exhaust leaks?, I dunno...

When was your last tune-up?

i thought maybe the wheels would have something to do with it. i havent had a tune up in a while but the car had an engine rebuild about 20K miles ago. i would like to do a tune up myself. what does that consist of. dont worry, i will search for it too so you guys dont burn my a$$

Listen to your injectors. Do a SEARCH and you'll find several ways to do this. I posted a good way a couple of times several months/weeks ago. That might be a good place to start...
