Value of b means nothing... Because 0*1 = 0... 0^2 = 0

thank you...and the reason this really doesn't work (since 1 obviously doesn't = 0) is because when you divided each side by a you were dividing each side by 0 which can't be done...yeah...sorry...lock anyone?

whoa, I think you all are getting way ahead here...

Overdrive OFF = you are basically taking off your top gear...
I do this when I drive in the city and i KNOW i wont go over
45-50 MPH. This will help your transmission since it will
shift up/down a lot less.

When you take the OD off...there will
be a orange light on the dash.... letting you know that you have
decreased your gear ratio.

Overdrive ON = you want this on if you plan on going over 50 MPH
for extended periods of time, such as highway driving or even if
you drive 60 in a 45 constantly

After having to rebuild my tranny 4 mos. ago...I try to avoid strain
on the tranny by turning the OD off on short trips under 45 MPH.

hope that helps better than those math equations

Another thing I had heard about Nissans, I'm not sure if they do (I know Chevy does, I had a heated discussion with a dealer about it) is that when the car is stopped and in OD, when you give it gas, it first goes to the OD gear, THEN 1st gear.
I believe Chevy's also shift through (Not to, through) OD before reaching any other gear... Which causes more wear and tear.
I doubt Nissan goes thru OD to shift, and I dunno the technicalities behind shifting, but I DO know, that from a dead stop with OD off, it shifts to first gear a little faster, and has a little more power off the line, and when OD is on, sometimes it shifts a little hard into 1st when you punch it...
Just my observations tho
