I have an electronic transmission in my max . Lately when i start my car the button down beside the gear shifter for power or comfort has been blinking in the power mode not the comfort mode even when I don't have the power mode turned on . It will blink for a couple of seconds and then stop . Can anyone offer me info on what this might be and what I should do . Thank You , Scirrocco

Well acording to the Manual book, when the light flashed when U start the car.... It means that the fail staff mode has engauged. (This is when the car has been driven hard eg: Wheel spining, hard braking). But it also means that the transmission needs to be checked by a Nissan service centre. It might just need a good service as it is very important to have all auto's reguarly serviced.

I hate to disagree with Kitt, but the power light is supposed to come on for a few seconds every time the engine is started. This indicates that the transmission control computer is doing a self test on power up. What you are seeing is normal.

the power light is an indicator light similar to a check engine light. IT has specific blink sequences that will tell you of a specific code. You'll have to consult the FSM for the error code reading.
