After he.....

You heard his CV joints after the dust cleared out, and all you saw was tail lights.

heheh that's probably his VTC tick!

the CV joints in our cars will last forever compared to the design on Hondas.. (not knockin honda, but the CV joint design leaves a lot to be desired)..
you'd have to thrash a set of Maxima CV joints pretty hard after the boots were dead before they'd wear out. I drove for almost 1000 miles with a torn boot and no grease in it, and it's still good as new. pics on my website.

I drove 6000 with my right CV boot damn near gone. and it was still all good.

but finally i decided to stop being a cheap @ss and bought new axles. Axles weren't much more and i get brand new axles with lifetime warranty so i just got them instead of new CV boots.

Uhhhh, new axles are like $400 each from courtesy.. how the hell can replacing them be almost the same price as replacing an $8 in an 1 hour procedure?

I still find it amazing that anyone can ruin these things.. they're practically bulletproof.. I beat on my car all day, every day and my CV joints looked brand new when I tore them down and replaced the boots a few months ago.

120,000 miles and going strong!

i paid like just over 300 to have both axles replaced.
that was including the labor and everything.

well both my cv boots have been torn since i had the car. remember when i first came on here matt and i was asking how to get the cv boots apart? well i was gonna fix them then but never got around to it and didnt have any $. they held up for three or so years but i guess dirt and crap got in the axle joint and its tearin it up so i need new axled pretty bad.
