My car is actually a VG and it was a pain to do becuase of thegasket that must me replace...I will hopefully get some time this weekend and try to write something up and post it on my website and I will post it on the org also!!!
I did notice that I get much better responce out of the car and a much smoother idle! It was worth my time!
Thanks for the link again!!

i called myself cleaning out my throttle body and personally, I didn't see any better response or anything...then again, I don't wash myself tooo good, so that might be one indication...j/k. But i really didn't see any quicker response when i press my gas pedal to go!!

i did mine. its a pain in the *** on a vg cause you have to disconnect the metal peice and put it back on like 20 times till you kill the can of cleaner. and the car wont run with that peice disconnected. so unbolt the three bolts, spray the stuff, put it back together start the car and run for about a min, then turn it off undo the bolts and repeat until cleaned. I totally felt my idle get smoother after it though, so it definitly helped. And that gasket can be reused, you dont need to buy a new one.

stickie please
Write up would be great.. the website that linked me to the write up was not too clear.. I see my VG motor and i am having a difficult time thinking of how to take the air fileter box and the MAF and other shiet.. As well as the gasket.. wtf.. I have the can of throttle cleaner.. now i need to know step by step how to do it..

Well the rubber seal was coming apart on my gasket so I had no chioce to replace it...might as well cuz it costs $4 from nissan and you are there anyways...
as far as how to do it...I have a JWT intake and I didnt even touch the intake or mass flow sensor...all I did was unbolt the two screws on the top right and left corners of the throttle body...The unbolt the bolt that is going through the spark plug wire holster....after this the metal pipe is loose from the throttle body...disconnect both the hose coming from the right and left of that metal pipe by pinching the clamps and and loosen the clamp that goes around the big intake tube and hooks up to the metal pipe in the front of the motor...mave the pipe back and forth until you get it free...Now you should have plenty of room to get to the throttle body...just spray the cleaner inside and wipe it with a rag and be sure to clean the edges of the plates inside and as far into the TB as you can...clean it til you dont see anymore black gook on your rag...now you have to get the old gasket off which was stuck to the metal pipe...this is the fun part....i just wet the gasket with the cleaner and used a razor blade to scrap it off...took a while though so you need to have patience...one the old gasket is completely off install the new one and be sure to peel off the adhesive on the back...Be sure to clean the inside of the metal pipe of any shavings from the old gasket and reinstall the pipe...After everything is reinstalled try to start the car...mine started on the first try but it may take a few tries...Now take it for a ride and see if you notice a difference...if not atleast u know thw air going into your motor is clean!...and according to Craig nissan will charge up to $100 to do this and it costs you like $6 and some time!
I will have this on my page with a better write up and some pics and i will post it on the org!
Just reply to this post if you have any other questions...sorry if its not clear im not in a good stae of mind right now im kinda sick :P
GOODLUCK VG GUYS!

man, i really dont wanna consider your an idiot, or a baby, but i can almost bet you that if you open your hood and look at your engine, you will see exactly what im talking about, without further explanation. You do not need to remove your MAF or your airfilter for this. if you want to change your airfilter, unclip the clips the box together.

brandon...ok my mistake man
Crazy4maxima...the last bolt is where the spark plug wires are held to the metal intake tube...it is right in the center of the tube...it doesnt look as if it holds the throttle body on but it is a long bolt...the cost of the gasket was $4.59. Goodluck man!

Hey, I cleaned out my throttle body this weekend and DAMN was it nasty in there. I have a few Before pics of the throttle body taken apart. I dont have any after pics because I was quick to put everything back together. And yes, the engine does idle a lot smoother and I also tightened my throttle cable for better response.
