Question about tire size

Im changing my wheels for a new 16s, I have to buy a new set of tires I now the ones I need its 215/55/16 but I find A really good deal in some 215/50/16, I should put those ones? Do you thing that my ride will be dramatically efect and how about the speedometer how much will chage because the 05 smaller?

Re: Question about tire size

225/50/16 is the best....the tires will have a "beefier" look, less sidewall and the speedo will not be affected. you should be able to find a good set(Nitto 450s, Kuhmo 712s) for ~$80-90 a tire!

no, not yet....but when I do get my rims thats what I'll get! I know a few guys on here with this setup and they are doing fine with it! as for the difference it'll be 2.5% slower so technically at 60 you're going ~59.

use this site to find speedo differences:

Pervis Anathema (sp?) has 225/60/15 AVS dB's on his SE rims and last I heard had no probs. Try asking him. I might go this way when my sucky "touring" tires wear out

215/60 should be fine though. A few people I've heard run that size and there's room all round for it.
