Is there a diff in trunks?

i know the tile sounds stupid but this may or maynot be a good question. I have a 91 se as most of you know, and i took my wing off and threw my trunk away. I went and got a trunk from an 89 gxe (i think) and drilled my holes and mounted my touring wing. Now my question is, is there a difference in the way the trunk was designed between the gxe model and se model. because my trunk seems more flimsy and the wing flapps in the wind kinda bad. i dont think its the wing as much as the trunk. any input?

common

someone has to know if they built se trunks diff than gxe trunks. im thinking they did because the se trunk hade a factory wing and the gxe was never meant to have one. is there another sheet underneath? or is my wing just to heavy?

something is different back there

I had a gxe and put a stock SE spoiler on it and then it would slam really easily and a little harder to push up

I would think that they would just change the torsion bars which hold the trunk open or closed but I could be wrong

Yea the springs/torsion bars whatever theyre called are stronger on an SE. I took off my spoiler to clean under it and while it was off i popped the trunk and it whipped open so fast without the spoiler weight to slow it down.

How hard was it to take off the spoiler? I want to take mine off and put some new adhesive under it. All day job?

the adhesives on the edges are already rotted and worn away on mine and is held on by the 4 screws by the 3rd brake light, ill probably crazy glue the edges down

noone has answered my question

is there something different on the trunks? an extra sheet of metal? how can i fix my touring wing from bouncing? add sheet metal under it or fill the layer between the wing and truk with some kind of spray dynomatt to reinforce it.

Just take the ricer wing off
Or do what «§»Craig B«§» and Maximan190 said, which was to tighten the torsion bars.
