k&n filter

k&n filter
I am thinking of installing a popcharger in my 92 ve. From the threads that I've read, there is a problem with the oil covering the maf sensor that kinda change the idle a bit. Any suggestion or recommendation? Is there a noticeable difference in the hp?

I think you're mixing two different problems. The free flowing K&N panel filter causes idle problems....on VG's(?) They say that any K&N will coat the MAF sensor,...and it won't be just the idle that gets messed up. Some say to just make sure not to over oil the filter and also let it dry. I think that's probably the key since I have seen quite a few K&N users(including myself) not have any problems.

I have a K&N panel filter and if anything this should be worse than a pop if there's to be problems. My idle is usually steady and the car (usually) drives fine. I really think it's because of overzealous oiling of the filters. Especially of filters right from the factory which some people have said have been DEFINITELY over-oiled. Just go sparingly but thoroughly and you should be okay.
