Failed emissions test today!!!!!
Took car in to get vehicle inspection sticker and it failed. Report say the percentage of HC is high only at idle speed. Any ideas what it could be, maybe O2 sensor never been replaced. Fuel filter replaced, been at diagnostic center no codes show up on computer.
Fuel pressure checks out fine, bought PCV valve will replace this weekend, throttle body cleaned out a while back, spark plugs have been changed, cleaned AAV valve. All connectors to sensors are fine.
New universal catalytic converter put in a month ago. The report says that the HC (ppm) value should read no more that 220, mine reads 353 at idle speed and 120 at 2500 RPM. Don't know where else to go or what else to do. Any help appreciated.

Danny, the car and the cat were warmed up, as far as the cat being hot don't know. The inspection place was not too far from where I work
I didn't have to get on the highway or anything like that, but the car was upto operating temp.

Jeff, I really don't what you mean by 3-way, but I did notice when they were putting on the cat it was just a bit smaller than the original.

If yours has never been replaced (which is what I think you said) Then replace it.

change the pcv valve and the o2 sensor and you should not have a problem. Remember to let the car warm up real good drive it somewhere before going for inspection. The cat burns the exhaust gases better. Try putting a bottle of chevron fuel injector cleaner in your tank.
