ecu upgrade = also change tranny shift point?
I've been searching for awhile and I've only found one post that actually said an ecu upgrade will do that. I have a 94gxe with CAI and Y and the transmission seems to be shifting kinda lazy. Like I'll have to really step on the gas fast and hard inorder for it to drop down a gear, otherwise, if I just gradually step on it hard, it won't shift and will try to pull on the gear that it's on. Does this make sense to you guys? I really don't know how to explain it. Is this because the transmission shift points aren't matching well with the added horsepower to the engine? My transmission was rebuilt not too long ago so I doubt it has anything to do with tranny failure. I'm wondering if an ecu upgrade can improve this. Is the tranny controlled by the ecu or is there a separate transmission controller/computer?

A shift kit would help. But there have been bad results when using a JWT TCU, the owners were not impressed at all . But for now install either a trans go shift kit or Don's VB. Before you ask type both things into search and you'll have a fast answer!
EDIT: I'm to lazy to repeat myself LOL

I really doubt that my transmission is failing. If driven unaggressively, it shifts smooth and accelerate like normal. I'm curious if my transmission can be tweaked like changing shift points or whatnot to match the added power on the engine. I'm really not that fond of Don's VB because it'll make my tranny shift harder. How are shift points decided? Does the manufacturer decide where the shift points should be according to the hp/powerband of the engine?
