shaving the car

shaving the car

does anyone know around how much would i be looking at if i want to shave the back trunk lid.

shave it of what...the only thing there to basically "shave" is the center tail panel. Or do you mean like what the almighty Stu did and fill in the hole.

yep yep take the center panel out and make that part nice and flat so there won't be any holes and marks or anything like that.

sheet metal...I am actually going to do this after I do my quarter panel. I don't think it will be a whole lot of work but you have to curve it right because if you look at it the panel is not flat it has a slight curve to it.

unless your expierienced with

body work it wont be "easy" having worked at a shop I know the work involved, it isnt impossible but its really not a DIY job, Ive seen cars that have taken it to a body shop to have it done and a few months later it looks horrible becuase they didnt do it right, the sheet metal has to be welded then the area must be bondo'd and sanded to prep for paint. If it isnt done right after a while certain areas will look sunken in and the paint will crack.

Its a DIY job for me I do have body work experiance though and it will be done right (it also helps that a good friend owns a body shop and he owes me.)
