Problems keeping a VG30 at operating temo?

Problems keeping a VG30 at operating temo?

Although not in a max, but i doubt there are any forums for a Quest. My families 94 Nissan Quest as alot of trouble mainting operating temperature in the cold. What could be causing this?

Yeah... try replacing the thermostat. Also, if that doesn't work, try replacing the temp sending units (2 of them) located on the thermostat housing. One tells the ECU how hot it is and the other the temp gauge...

I was just commenting to my mother on our ride into work today about the temp in my car dropping on the highway... Not as bad as it did before the new heater core, but still pretty bad...
I was thinking it had something to do with the thermostat...
Welp, second 'stat in a year, woohoo!
It'll go in after my patented, new "non-rusted out" radiator!

When I had that problem, I just replaced my thermostat. Problem fixed. I can now maintain operating temperature while cruising on the highway on a very cold day. My car also warms up to operating MUCH faster now with a new thermostat.

While changing your thermostat, it would be a good idea to flush your cooling system at the same time if it hasn't been done in a while.
