Some more info would be helpful. Do you have an SE or GXE? If its and SE, then you may have a faulty VTC, if its a GXE, then it might be broken exhaust manifold studs. When do you hear the ticking? As its just idling, or when you excellerate mostly? Do a search on those two subject and im sure you'll find a lot of info.

I have a 92 GXE it sounds exhausty, but cannot be sure if it is gaskets, donut, etc. It ticks all the time.

If it's a really small tick that can be heard more as you put your head towards the fuel injectors, then it could be those also. Check the things mentioned above also.

Could be:

-broken exhaust studs (sound will change volume, sound, etc as engine warms up)
-valve lifter(s) shot. Loud ticking, not too sure what else... maybe performance loss. Hope it's not this.
-fuel injectors. If it's fairly quiet and only really noticable if you open the hood, it's normal. They tick lightly as they open and close.
