Halfshaft questions...

I know that the problem with the VG30E-T swap, besides lots of $$$$$, is torque steer which is produced by unequal length halfshafts. Does the stock VG30E have unequal length halfshafts or is this a result of the VG30E-T swap. Would a VG30E with the same HP as a VG30E-T have the same amount of torque steer?

probably 99% of all FWD cars have unequal length HS. Torque steer is a function of hp, not where the hp is coming from. Although the torque curves might affect how severe the torque steer is at certain rpms.

Dumbass question time

Torque Steer = When you step on it, and the car pulls to one side because of the (HATED) differential errr, thing?
Hehe, I know what causes it, just not exactly what to call it. But am I right?

i thought a differential would correct it, or is that just in cornering?
it just seems to happen in higher powered fwd cars

That's not the differential's purpose. A limited slip type of differential will help of course. But that is not what comes standard in the VG equipped maximas.

thats only on the 92 - 94 se's right?
doesnt it help in cornering by stopping the inside tire from spinning?

Read below and yes, the only 3-gens to have limit slip differentials were the 92-94 dohc equipped 5-sp/autos.

Link didn't work for me.. But to re-iterate my question, is torque-steer when you're coming off the line fast, and one tire grips more then the other, causing the car to pull to one side?
Like mine, when I step on it off the line, it pulls to the right, and I know it's not my alignment, it's also why I hate differentials.
