custom exhaust- y pipe , 2.5 piping, 2000 muffler
well i got a question,if i get a y pipe and i have a 2000 muffler on my 90 maxim se and add 2.5piping will the piping help. or it wont make any difference since the muffler is 2inch piping. thanks

If it doesnt cost much more do it because it cant hurt and if lateron you want to put a larger muffler on youll aready have the larger piping. last week i welded up my own 2.5inch catback to a 2.5 inch strait through tip and it gave me a lot more power in the top end(especially in 3rd gear).

2.5" is for the weak jk man.
yeah, it should help as long as it's quality. if it's crimp bend i wouldn't even bother. If it's mandrel bent then heck yeah! but if you go crimp and go 2.5" you're not really gonna gain all that much (IMHO) you'll have gains since you have a Y pipe and it's larger than stock, but it won't be AS much ya know. anyway, if you're having everything else done too, see how much your guy wants for a y pipe. mine did mine with a high flow cat and flex with a 4 year warrenty for 300. then the rest of the exhaust. . . .
