Hard time w/ diagnostics--Help
I'm having car problems that I need to solve ASAP. Basically the car won't idle right and in the morning wont stay running. This started after having the AC system recharged.
I have a POS Haynes manual
AND I did a search on the board and was resolved to taking it to a shop to pay $20.00 for the diagnosis because I'm a bit suspicious of the procedure the I found in the Haynes. Based on what it gave me it, the codes were 12 Mass Airflow; 34 knock sensor; 51 fuel injector; 23 and 46 (WTF)
Where on the board, or who has on their site the correct procedure?
Oh, and the reason I need to do it myself, (again) is because the guy at the shop said that you can only do diagnostics by reading flashes on the ECM, and not by using a scanner. Is he full of it, stupid, or telling the truth?

that means either
1. the shop doesn't have a scanner and are too cheap to buy one.
2. business is bad and they can't afford one.
3. you should take it to another mechanic who has a nissan CONSULT scanner. (Don't know if they're a dealer-only item or if shops can purchase them)
