Axles

The passenger side axle on my younger brothers 92SE is shot and the driver side is on its way, my question: should he get brand new axles from the dealer, used ones from the junkyard or should he get new remanufactured axles?

up to you.. want to spend the money on a new nissan then do it.. Y ou want to go to a junk yard and take a chance in getting a used not knowing the condition of the insides.. or get the remanufactured... Make certain you save the rescipt... Re manu is like 50 bucks or so per axle..i got mines done and labor for like 200... friend of a family.. but if you want and have the cash go with oem nissan dealer.. or someone will post up about the other alternatives..

Reman axles are around $70 each here, and they have a lifetime warranty.

its god to see that once a formal newbee can help a fellow maxima.or owner.. now with that all said and done where is my cut.. say 10%..lol j/k. but seriously, get the job done and make certain that you get it writen up, and that it has a warrenty as mat and i stated. Make certain that the car feels good, and that you dont feel it going to one side again, or your hearing sounds when you go through a turn or hit a bump... keep an ear out for those sounds and feel the wheel.. when you acc.. does it move to one side.. as with me i had noise and the wheel moved to the right when i acc, right after i just got the remanu installed... So even the remanu has defect and they had to do the job over and get another set of axles... so i had to wait another day for my maxima to be finish..

On a side note. i feel the can does jitter, move to one side still, but could that be an allinment problem,. Once i got the remanufactured axle i felt wierd driving my maxima, since know that i am picking up and feeling usuall things when i drive.. For one thing i know that i need new motor mounts (which no one has helped me look for replacements on the org, ANY HELP?) and also my gr2 struts that have been on my ax when i got her are shot, so i dont know what to get gr2 or the tokicos... also my rotors are warped.. so those could be a very big contibution to my other noise and feeling when i drive, b/c it cannot be the axles i have just changed, so those are my next step..

BTW where can i find motor mounts. and how much are they.
