Where did you get pics of that max??? I met that guy the other day, chased him down the street and got him to pull into a parking lot. We talked for a while, he showed me his airbag setup and I was real impressed. Says he's on here every once in a while and I've been waiting to hear from him. Cool guy, Jason was his name I believe. If you know him tell him to e-mail me!

wow...looks good. I'm just thinking about getting the front lip only...save money, ya know. Or would it be better to get the whole kit?

hey do you know if he painted his lower panels around the rest of the car himself, you did he get it professionally done? if he did it himself he did a good job. i ask because i would like to get just the front lip, but i dont want to have black panels on a white car going around the rest of the car, with white in the front.

He had it professionally done. He had them strip the black strip stuff off (it's not really just paint) and then paint the panels to match the car. Looks absolutely flawless when you get close to it.

It's some kind of strip that can be peeled off. It's like a rhino lining kinda stuff or something. ???
I didn't notice until I looked at the inside of the doors. You can see it folded at the corners on mine. ?

Yeah, it's a little thicker and more protective since it's so close to the road. No chips that way.

does that strip come off cleanly, or does it take a sh*tload of time to get off, like the adhesive under the door panel moldings? and pest2001, did you paint yours without taking off the strip?

yes, it is. It's best not to try to peel it off, thgough. A body shop would do the same thing, sand it down to the metal underneath, but it's a strip of coating sprayed on just like paint but it isn't black paint like some speculate.

I have a red maxima with a black bottom, I too was thinking of getting the stillen front air damn. What's the best way to paint it myself? I was just gonna sand, prime, 3 color coats and seal. But some people I have talked to said that its better to take it to a body shop. What do you think? Does yours look pretty good close up?

Urethane looks best and lasts longest when it has what I've heard called 'flex' in the paint. It's not as easy or as cheap to paint as fiberglass if you care about the quality of it.

That's great, but judging from your pics you can tell when you look at it where the black was. On his max you couldn't even tell up close. Looks real good...
