Removing Stock Alarm - Yes, I searched :)
Heya,
I need to remove my stock alarm until I have time to find out where the short is in the system, and, of course, the wonderful Haynes manual that I hate so much, has NO information whatsoever on it.
So, I searched, and searched, and couldn't come up with a way to remove it on here, only to disable it, and I've already pulled the fuse, which made it worse somehow, and I doubt at this stage that hooking a diode up will make it do more then laugh at me...
Which it already does when I'm driving on the highway, opening the door, or even just staring at it out the window.
"In the ever-widening circle of fixing stuff that breaks, I, I have finally reached the left side... Unfortunately, Square One is on the right, and I can NOT pass Go..." - Me, right now

not real sure on your question, but I can tell you where the stock alarm is and you can try unplugging it
remove the lower drivers side dash panel (9 screws I think including one hiding on the left side when you open the door)
There are 2 sets of boxes (maybe 3"x5" or so), one on each side of teh steering column
on the right side, the grey plastic one is the door lock timer and behind it is the cruise control computer, also just to the right of the door lock timer on the end of that little metal bar is the flasher unit for your blinkers
on the left side, the metal one in front is the stock alarm and says something like "security cont assy", behind that is the timer control unit that controls defrost, dimmer, dome light, chime, etc
I dont think unplugging the alarm would affect anything else but you can easily test that and see.
good luck
also, for the Canada guys, the daytime running light control is located where the US security system is and the CA security is just above the glovebox (probably have to take out the glovebox to get to it) <-according to my 94 FSM

It was right there when I looked, and I unplugged it, the car started right up (I tried it both before AND after I put everything back together)
It took me 5 minutes at most...
Appreciate the help!

Thank you, that's EXACTLY what I wanted... I just went out and did it (BTW, I only have 4 of those 9 screws... I didn't put the rest back when I took out the heater core, I KNEW I'd be under there quite often)
