Trunk Rattle

Any ideas on how I can get my trunk to stop rattling? I Have two punch 12's in the trunk and getting rid of the system is not an option. It sounds great inside, but every time I turn it up, I feel ghetto with the rattling trunk. Any helpful thoughts at all? Thanks ahead of time.

Solution

Get some good 6x9's like INfinity Kappas or Kicker(the Kickers have no tweeter, so you can put a crossover on 'em..basically a 6x9 sub..save weight too) and Amp 'em..you won't be ghetto anymore, but the bass won't stop your heart. I've heard a properly set up system just 6x9's on a Macintosh amp. Damn that sounded unreal! And the bass was POUNDING yet crystal clear. If you care about looking ghetto, why are you pumping 2-12's anyway? I got an idea..turn the trebble up, bass down and blast some Jewel! (just a joke guys) Wanna buy two 12 in JL W-0's..I'm going for speed in my max so I'm dumping heavy subs for some high quality 6x9's to put on my Precision POwer Amp. To each his own.

dont get w-0's, they suck. opt for like 1 w-3 or w-6. those dont even compare to w-0's. 1 properly amped w-6, even a properly amped w-3, will hit way harder than 2 w-0's.

most of my rattling comes from underneath the car. The trunk lid will pretty much come off the car when i turn up the volume, but like i said...it's mostly underneath that rattles. I still have everything in the spare hole...eventhough i can't get to it with my system. I just need to take it all out and see if that helps. Dynomatt extreme made wonders after i put it in!!

Re: Re: Solution

Indeed W-3's are definately better than w-0, and newer design than w-6..wouldn't say w-0 suck though..for budget minded people they are a great sub. I have had one(had 2 but found it unnecessary) in my trunk for 3 years pounding like hell and never a problem. Sound great, just depends on what you want..shake your booty or shake the fillings from your teeth!

my 2-for-$99 rockford 12's hit waaaay harder than w-0's. i think your just paying for the name when you buy w-o's.

sorry for being so computer-lingo illiterate, but what does "h3lla" mean?

HELLA = did not want to be censored? Well of course your spare is gonna rattle unless you doo a thick *** false floor or you could use spray on rubber undercoating.

I have seen cars with deadbeat or dynomatt on both the inside and underside of the car. These car did not rattle at all. Like everyone else said, use a lot and you should dampen rattling. Good luck.
