Fog Lights Question....

Hey guys hows it going. I had a question for ya. My 89 MAx SE's fogs arent working for me. I think its cause they are all rusty and I need new ones. I was wondering whether I should get the stock ones and if so from where or is it cheaper to get some generic fogs thatll work just as good. WHat about PIAAs.
Thanx

If you buy it from the dealer it might just cost you the same amount as getting aftermarket fogs such as piaa's or hella fog lights. You can also get the stock lights at a junkyard possibly at a much lower price but they might not be in the best conditions. The only reason I would go aftermarket would be because I can get a different style fog and the fog you buy might be brighter and might have a better color. The only reason I would buy stock fogs would be to keep the stock look but some aftermarket fogs look just like the stock fogs. I also wouldn't like an additional switch, I like where my fog switch is placed and would try to intergrate my stock switch with the aftermarket fog. Go aftermarket

Peace,
D

i like my stock fogs (just wish they were brighter at times) but if i were to go aftermarket, id go with ones like DaBoxSE has, they look like the stocks but are a little slimmer

I bought a semi cheap one, i forgot the brand. look on the website for how I installed them. im satisified. someone broke my passanger lense on the stock lights so it was cheaper to buy a new set. I personally liked the stock lights, they were brighter than my headlights, until i got new bulbs.
mine are more of a beam pattern and I need more of a difused pattern. let me know how much you would sell a stock lense for.
Thanks

guys its not that expensive to buy the new lenses and the new lenses come with the whole piece that comes out to change the bulb (reflective piece and all) I know because I bought 2 new ones from pennacle nissan
Here is a link to the site the fog light lens is only $24.84 a piece and that is all you need unless your bracket is bent...now if you dont like the factory fogs thats a different story.

You might even get it cheaper from Courtesy.

Also you can put different bulbs in your factory lights. I put some cheap Pilot super white bulbs(like $5 a piece) in mine and they are pretty bright. Check the link in my sig to see the light output.

The bulb is just an H3 and several companies make a brighter H3 bulb.

only issue with brighter H3's is that they might melt out your
foggies or burn up the wiring

you can get brighter bulbs and still have 55w bulbs...mine are much brighter and still 55w. PIAA makes extreem white bulbs that are 55w. But you are right dont get a higher wattage bulb or you might burn the wires.

I just checked my link and it doesn't take you directly to the lights.

so click here then click front lamps then click fog lamps and there you go
