Scary Noise...

Iv'e noticed a kinda scarry noise coming from either the trans or the bottom end of the engine. at anywhere between 1200 and 1800 rpm there is either a grinding or rattling noise. it is only there when i am on the gas and dissapears soon after that. the car rides rough which probably has something to do with it. has anyone experienced this problem and found a solution. hoping this isn't an extremely large problem. i can do most type of work myself but am open to guesses on what the noise could be. thank you.

Re: Scary Noise...

I've had that noise too....I think it was the heat sheilding on my Y-pipe or but I've also heard it is possible that it could be the rear exhaust manifold heat sheild also. it seemed to disapear after I got rid of my stock Y-pipe though.....
